Governance and organisation

The AGM confirmed an updated operational structure for IWSA. Finn Mrugalla has taken on the role of Competition Manager, while Christiane Admiraal will lead operations and member liaison.

Man Ngo Hin of Hong Kong and Ateş Çınar of Turkey will join the Executive Committee, while Nils Stolzlechner was confirmed for another term as Vice President.

During the World Championships, the election process for the Male Athletes’ Representative was also launched through an online vote among the male athletes. Jeremiah McDonald was elected to the role.

IWSA’s partnership with Icarus Sports will also continue into 2027.

Class Rules and 2027

The future of the Formula Wing Class Rules was a key focus, with discussions covering equipment limitations, technical specifications and race formats. Further proposals will be developed ahead of an Extraordinary General Meeting planned for early October.

Planning for 2027 is also under way, with up to six World Cup events being considered across different continents.

The AGM also considered Formula Wing’s longer-term Olympic pathway within the World Sailing framework.

IWSA’s redesigned website is scheduled to launch on 1 September, with a new media hub, online store and dedicated areas for members and athletes.
