How The Rankings Work

For each event giving World Championship points, a competitor will receive point(s) equal to 101 points minus their event rank, multiplied by the event grade. [(101-rank) x event grade]

Competitors not competing in an event will receive 0 points for that event.

Competitors may count scores from any event giving World Championship points, but the number of scores each competitor may count depends on the number of World Cup events completed.

  • When up to 3 World Cup events are completed, a competitor may count scores equal to the number of World Cups completed.
  • When 4 or more World Cup events are completed, a competitor may count one event less than the number of World Cup events completed, except that if the score of the last World Cup event of the year is 0, it cannot be excluded.

The competitor with the highest World Championship series score after the last World Cup event of the year will be declared World Champion. All others will be ranked accordingly.

If there is a tie in the World Championship series ranking, it shall be broken according to RRS A8, replacing ’race scores’ with ’event scores’.
